World First: Wearable (Cinderella) Glass Shoes

Master Shoemaker to the stars Pasquale Fabrizio is debuting a Glass Shoe Collection (or Glass Slippers, just like Cinderella) next week in Los Angeles.  Launching a collection of 100 pairs shoes including Q by Pasquale’s couture collection of evening shoes, but excitingly for Pascquale the Glass Shoes will be the highlight after a five year journey to create this iconic shoe and bring it to life!

The shoes I have posted here are; Ruby, Oscar, Firecracker and Cleo.

The shoes are wearable works of art featuring handcrafted soles, embellishments of Murano glass and 24-carat gold beading. Working with artisans throughout Italy, Pasquale has married the elements of shoe architecture, quality materials and natural beauty which bring to life the fairy tale of the glass slipper.

Selling for US$7,500 each are but they are so beautiful and I wonder who will be the first Celebrity to totter down the red carpet in them!  Some of the celebs he’s crafted shoes for include; Madonna, Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker!

Quick Update:  BryanBoy shared with me on twitter this Glass Shoe that he saw in Moscow in 2009 made by Maison Martin Margiela … selling for US$2,600 a pair … can you imagine tottering around in these?  The feet would looked all squashed and yukky don’t you think? [S]
